The ItFits-toolkit guides users through a flexible process of tailoring site-specific implementation strategies to local objectives and barriers, matching them to existing or new implementation strategies, developing them into a concrete work plan, applying the work plan, and monitoring the results. 

The toolkit was developed as an online tool based on a solid theoretical foundation, and thoroughly tested in a stepped-wedge randomised trial. The first results of the effectiveness study indicate that tailored implementation in the form of the online ItFits-toolkit is a worthwhile approach, and the process evaulation has shown the toolkit to be valuable for users in supporting and enhancing their implementation work.
